Journey through the Bible: The Trial and Crucifixion of Jesus

Scripture Reading: 1 Timothy 6:12-14 "Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses. I charge you in the presence of God, who gives life to all things, and of Christ Jesus, who in his testimony before Pontius Pilate made the good confession, to keep the commandment unstained and free from reproach until the appearing of our Lord Jesus Christ." #1272

Introduction: Jesus has entered into Jerusalem with great fanfare and cleansed the Temple. The Pharisees and Sadducees put Jesus to the test with some questions they thought could not be answered without impunity. Jesus has taught about judgement upon those who worship in false religion and He predicted the destruction of the Temple and his return. Matthew 24 #1064, Luke 21 #1130 We are to be steadfast in our faith till the final judgement. Matthew 25 #1065 We looked at the Lord's anointed one Jesus. Matthew 26 #1067 Last week we saw Peter being bold, and Jesus being humble. Matthew 26:30-75, John 13:36-18:18 Today we see the trial and crucifixion of Jesus. Matthew 27, Mark 15, Luke 23, john 18-19
