Journey Through The Bible: Remaining Steadfast in Our Faith

Scripture Reading: 1 John 5:1-4 "Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ is born of God, and everyone who loves the father loves his child as well. This is how we know that we love the children of God: by loving God and carrying out his commands. This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome, for everyone born of God overcomes the world. This is the victory that has overcome the world, even our faith." #1306

Introduction: Last week we looked at Jesus calling together the 12 apostles and laborers for the Great Harvest. Matthew 9-10 #1044 Today we will look at John the Baptist sends Messengers, Jesus Praises John. Matthew 11 #1046, Luke 7:18-30 #1107 Next week we will look at Jesus as He forgives the repentant woman. Luke 7:36-8:3 #1109

As we continue our Journey through the Bible, we have seen the great faith of John the Baptizer. Even in the womb he leapt for joy at the sound of Jesus' mother Mary. He was the one who baptized Jesus and saw heaven open and heard the God speak about His son. Yet, when true persecution has come John's way, even he questions his devotion to the Lord. We have many who question our faith, and sometimes we even get to the point of questioning if we are doing what is right. Are we truly worshipping the Son of the living God. Jesus answers in an amazing way, remain steadfast for you can see what God is doing through Jesus Christ.
