Laborers for the Great Harvest

Journey Through The Bible: Laborers for the Great Harvest

Scripture Reading: Matthew 9:37-38 "Then Jesus said to his disciples, "The harvest is plentiful, but the laborers are few; therefore pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest." #1045

Introduction: Last week we looked at the Cleansing of a Leper and the Faith of a Centurion. Matthew 8:1-13 #1042, Luke 7 #1107 Today we will see Jesus heals many and calls together the 12 apostles. Matthew 9-10 #1044 Next week we will look at John the Baptist sends Messengers, Jesus Praises John. Matthew 11 #1046, Luke 7:18-30 #1107

As we continue through Matthew 8-10 we see Jesus performing many miracles that are proving His message, His authority, and His position as the Son of God. These range from calming the storm to healing the men with demons. From healing a paralytic, proving that He was the Son of Man with authority to healing the blind and mute. Today we want to focus on His calling of the disciples and the mission and warning He gives to them and to us.

Proposition: We are called to boldly go and harvest the earth.
