Journey Through The Bible: Jesus Healing Power of the Faithful

Scripture Reading: Matthew 7:7-8 "Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened."

Introduction: Last week we finished looking at the Sermon on the Mount. Mathew 7 #1041 Today, we will look at the Cleansing of a Leper and the Faith of a Centurion. Matthew 8:1-13 #1042, Luke 7 #1107 Next week we will see Jesus heals many and calls together the 12 apostles. Matthew 9-10 #1044

After His great sermon on the mount, Jesus has large crowds following Him. He is called by many to heal them and Jesus is willing to. Especially for those who seek Him out.

Proposition: We are called to seek out Jesus.

T.S.: We must worship and have faith in the one we seek.

I. We are called to worship Jesus and he will make us clean.

-Matthew 8:1-4 ________________

-Man with leprosy knelt before Jesus, he prostates himself in worship.

-Question: Jesus if you are willing.

-Answer: Jesus is willing to make us clean. (Hebrews 10:19-25) #1286

II. We are to have faith in Jesus' miraculous power.

-Matthew 8:5-13 ________________

-Centurion has a sick servant, seeks Jesus and asks for help.

-Again Jesus is willing to go and help.

-Faith of the centurion surprises Jesus.

-Jesus uses this moment of faith to teach how faith is what brings us into the kingdom.

-Romans 10:8-17 #1213, 1 Timothy 6:11-16 #1272

Let us ask Jesus to heal us, seek him out always in our lives, and worship the great healer.
