Introduction: In a world full of sin and violence, with mass shootings and hateful speech, we can always put our trust in the love of God! Today, let us look at all the love God provides, not only to each of us, but to the entire world.
Proposition: We are called to rely on the love of God.
T.S.: We are to seek comfort and peace in His precious love.
Let us look at and find peace in the provision and love of the Lord.
-God gave of Himself to save us. John 3:16 #1140

-God cares for us as the true shepherd all our lives. Genesis 48:15 #13, Psalm 23 #581

-God makes all things work together for those who love Him. Romans 8:28 #1211
-God loves us enough to provide discipline. Hebrews 12:5-11 #1289

It is difficult to understand the evil of man (Gen. 6:8 #6), but the love of God gives us hope (Romans 12:9-15). We will always be saddened by the sin of this world and the many forms that it is carried out, but we must always look to and live in the peace and provision of God's love.

Introduction: Ephesians 2:8 "For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God, not a result of works so that no one may boast. Grace is getting what you do not deserve; a gift to an underserving recipient!
Proposition: We are called to rely on the grace of God.

Let us rely on the Amazing and Sufficiency of God's Grace.

Introduction: So far we have looked at God's Love, John 3:16. And God's Grace, the bestowal of a blessing unearned or unmerited. Today we look at God's Mercy, is that which is deserved is withheld to the benefit of the recipient of the mercy. Grace is getting what you do not deserve; a gift to an underserving recipient! Mercy is the ability to live in the glory of God even though we deserve nothing but judgement.

Proposition: We are called to live in God's great mercy.
T.S.: Today, let us look at these passages of God's great mercy upon our lives.
-God is rich in Mercy. Ephesians 2:4 #1252

-God's love provides us with His Mercy. Psalm 51 #602
-Because of His great Mercy we may approach Him. Hebrews 4:16 #1282
-God makes known His Glory by making us vessels of Mercy. Romans 9:23 #1212
-Because of God's mercy, we have a work to accomplish. Titus 3:5 #1277
-Because of God's great Mercy, we are born again through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead. 1 Peter 1:3 #1295
Let us turn from our ways of sin and walk in the Mercy of God.
Matthew 9:11-13 "And when the Pharisees saw this, they said to his disciples, "Why does your teacher eat with tax collectors and sinners?" But when he heard it, he said, "Those who are well have no need of a physician, but those who are sick. Go and learn what this means: "I desire mercy, and not sacrifice." For I came not to call the righteous, but sinners."
God's Salvation Plan
Scripture Reading: Romans 1:16-17 "For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. For in it the righteousness of God's revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, "The righteous shall live by faith." #1204
Introduction: God has always provided for us a way to come close to Him, a path to safety, a path to redemption, He provides Salvation. Look at creation to the fall, the flood and His provision out, promise and covenant through Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. The law through Moses to show us what sin is and how we need our sins covered by blood to be cleansed and have a right relation with Him. God sent prophets to us to let us know what He wants. Then at the right time, God sent His Son, born of a virgin, born under the law to teach us and show us the path to salvation. Through His redemptive sacrifice in the place of our sin.
Proposition: We need to rely on God to provide salvation.
T.S.: We do this by trusting Him.
I. We are only able to come to God because of His grace.
-God loved us while we were yet sinners. Romans 5:1-11 #1208
-We are saved by His immeasurable grace. Ephesians 2:1-10 #1251
-We have been created to be God's workmanship.
-Because God has provided us grace, we need to do that which God calls us to.
II. We are only able to come to God through His Son.
-God spent many years teaching us we needed cleansed by blood.
-Jesus bled and died for our sins. We spend today remembering his sacrifice.
-We have redemption through Jesus Christ. Romans 3:21-26 #1206
-Christ has saved us from our sin. Because of this we follow His plan.
III. We are only able to come to God by obeying His word.

-Love God and keep his commands. 1 John 5:1-5 #1306
Let us rely upon God to provide our salvation today through His son Jesus Christ.
The Holiness of God
Scripture Reading: Isaiah 6:3 "Holy, holy, holy is the Lord of hosts; the whole earth is full of His glory!" #732
Introduction: So far we have looked at God's Love, John 3:16, God's Grace, the bestowal of a blessing unearned or unmerited. And God's Mercy, that which is deserved is withheld to the benefit of the recipient of the mercy. We looked at God's wonderful salvation for each of us whom believes and at the great and awesome power of God. Today we look at the holiness of God.
A definition of Holy: Exalted or worthy of complete devotion as one perfect in goodness and righteousness, divine, apartness, sacredness, hallowed, sanctified, venerated, revered, blessed.
Song 47 "Holy, Holy, Holy"
Proposition: We are to worship our Holy God.
T.S.: Let us look at some of the descriptions of our Holy God in His Holy Word.
I. Descriptive texts about the total purity of God's incorruptible holiness.
-Where God is, it is Holy. Exodus 3:2-6 #58 (Song 100)
-No one is Holy like God. 1 Samuel 2:1-3 #286
-God reigns on high, we shall praise Him. Psalm 99:1-5 #638
-All earth is filled with His glory. Isaiah 6:3 #732
-We shall give glory, honor and thanks to Him. Revelation 4:8-11 #1314
II. God is from above and reveals His glory to the humble.
-His thoughts are Holy. Isaiah 55:6-9 #791
-He dwells with those who are contrite and humble. Isaiah 57:14-15 #793
-We shall praise His name. Psalm 113 #650
-He is not of this world, yet He prepares a place for us. John 8:23, 14:1-14 #1148
Let us seek the Holy Lord of Hosts and humbly worship Him.
Scripture Reading: 1 Peter 1:17-19 "And if you call on him as Father who judges impartially according to each one's deeds, conduct yourselves with fear throughout the time of your exile, knowing that you were ransomed from the futile ways inherited from your forefathers, not with perishable things such as silver or gold, but with the precious blood of Christ, like that of a lamb without blemish or spot. #1295
Introduction: So far we have looked at God's Love, John 3:16, God's Grace, the bestowal of a blessing unearned or unmerited. And God's Mercy, that which is deserved is withheld to the benefit of the recipient of the mercy. We looked at God's wonderful salvation for each of us whom believes and at the great and awesome power of God. We have seen the holiness of God. And today, we finish our series on the attributes of God by looking at His Justice.
A definition of Justice: A concern for peace, and genuine respect for people: Fairness, equity, impartiality, objectivity, honesty, righteousness, morality. A judge or magistrate.
Proposition: We should worship our God in complete humility for He is the Judge of the world.
T.S.: Today we will look at the righteous judgements of God in the past and future.
I. God has judged his people several times in the past.
-Adam and Eve. Genesis 3:11-24 #3

-Sodom and Gomorrah. Genesis 18:20-25 #16

T.S.: As Daniel and Nehemiah repented, we must repent before the almighty Judge.
II. God has brought salvation to the world through Jesus.
-Jesus lets us pass from death to life. John 5:19-29 #1142
-Because of this salvation we must be righteous. Matthew 25:31ff #1066
-We must repent or face judgement. Romans 1:32 #793, 1 Peter 1:17-19 #1295
-The final judgement gives us hope through Jesus Christ. Revelation 5, 20 #1314, 27
Let us rely on our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to redeem us from the coming Judgement.
